Lesson 4 - Partner - 5 mins
Choosing the right partner in bridge is very important. Your bridge partner could become a life companion.
I would advise caution in committing to such a relationship before you have really got to know each other. It is hard to dismiss a partner.
Spouses can make the ideal partner but can also be hazardous to health in the more volatile relationships. It is not unknown for a husband to shoot his wife after a particularly challenging bridge session.
Who would you like to spend time playing cards with? That is the essence of the question.
It is usually a good idea to have a trial partnership before committing to a regular arrangement. If you feel uncomfortable playing with someone, it is best to get out quick.
If you want your game to develop, your partnership should consider how each hand was played and think about how it could have been played better.
Try not to apportion blame. Anyone can make mistakes. Forgiveness and moving on is a good way of learning.
Choose well...
